About Kaseta

What Kaseta is

Kaseta is a voice recorder for iPhone that turns speech into text on the phone itself. You press record, the text appears while you speak, and none of it is uploaded — the app has no servers behind it and no account to sign into. The transcription engine handles 99 languages; the app’s own interface ships in 8. Everything else on this page follows from where the work happens, not from a promise you would have to take on trust.

Why on-device

Cloud transcription asks you to accept an unverifiable claim: that your audio was processed and then forgotten. On-device transcription replaces the claim with a fact you can check yourself — put the phone in airplane mode and it keeps working. The offline transcription guide walks through that check step by step.

Why pay once

There are no servers to rent, so there is no monthly cost to pass on to you. A per-minute subscription would be a business model imposed on a product that does not need one. Nothing here is metered by the minute: recording never stops at a limit, and the 5 minutes on the free plan cap how much is transcribed, not how long you can record. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
