The app
Kaseta transcribes on your device. Your recordings and their transcripts are never uploaded for transcription: the speech recognition runs on the iPhone, and there is no account, so nothing of yours is tied to an identity anywhere. The offline transcription guide shows how to check that claim yourself, and the about page explains why we built it this way.
If you have iPhone backup switched on, your recordings are included in your own iCloud backup, the same as everything else on your phone – that copy goes to your Apple account, never to us. That is a setting on the phone rather than something the app does, and you can exclude Kaseta from the backup in the iPhone’s iCloud settings. The app itself has no sync and no backup of its own.
Model downloads
The app connects to the internet to download its recognition models: the Fast model on first launch, and the Quality and speaker models when you first turn them on. That request fetches model files and carries no audio, no transcript and no identifier of yours. After the download, transcription needs no network at all.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple through the App Store, including anything that renews. We never see your payment details, and there is no billing relationship with us – a subscription is started, renewed and cancelled in your App Store account, not here. The app talks to Apple’s purchase system to check what you own and to restore a purchase on a new phone; that is Apple’s account, not ours.
This website
This site sets no cookies and shows no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. We count page views with Vercel Analytics, which stores no cookies and no personal data. We run no third-party trackers.
The app asks for no email address, and this website collects none. If you write to hello@kasetaapp.com, we see your address and what you wrote, and keep them for as long as it takes to answer you – that is the only way we ever hold an email address, and you decide whether to send one.
